Six out of ten burglaries, begin with entry through the house where the burglar cannot be easily seen. Three out of ten require no force at all; they are through open doors and windows, sometimes left open for needed ventilation!

Burglars avoid breaking glass these days; it is too noisy and now, with DNA testing, any blood or fabric left at the scene could quickly result in their arrest.

However, don't rely on simple locks on the handles or window stays. The materials used are soft and brittle. Most will snap off if put under pressure.

The only sure way to substantially improve your window security, is to fit additional VISIBLE deterrents. By the time a burglar realises that he can't get in, he may have done hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the window. If he can see the security, he may not bother to attempt entry and move on to the next potential victim.
